Hi guys. I was wondering if someone could help me. I have a nokia e61i which is supposed to have s60 version 3 installed. I also thought I am supposed to be able to install the sis and sisx files, however, I can only install jar files. If I try to install sis or sisx files I get a message saying that installation of that file is not supported. I already changed to settings in the app manager and still I can't install the sis or sisx files. What can I do? Any ideas?
nokia e61i unable to install sis and sisx files
What's the exact error message (word-for-word as displayed)?
"installation of filename.sis is not supported"
Are you sure that the files are for S60 3rd? This message only occurs when the file is for S60 v2 or v1.
You are right, I tried to install a program that is specific to s60 3rd edition and everything is fine.
Hello,
I've the same problem:
I developed an application with Carbide C++ and SDK s60 3rd Edition.
I build the pkg file to obtain a sis file and a sisx file.
When I try to install my app on my N95 or E61, I get these message:
- sis: Certificate Error...
- sisx: Unable to install.
This is my Build Configuration:
Phone Release (GCCE) [S60_3rd_FP1_3]
Please help me because I don't have any idea...
Thanks
Sign the application.
I, too, get a message that says "certificate error" or "certificate expired" when trying to install an application on my new Nokia E62. In response to othouven you indicated he needed to sign the application. How do you do that?
Here's the guide on how to do it:

If you get the certificate expired message, I just momentarily roll the date back on the device, install and then change the date back......................
