Can any one help??

Thanks Jay 😊

I dont understand what do you mean exactly... If is a network lock version maybe that is the reason why it does not allow the upgrade process.

jay iam sure i awnswerd this for you the other day

software updates are avalible for certain product codes only

0546659 is probs a tmobile branded handset so youll have to wait for tmobile to release there version of v12 firmware nokia release it for their sim free handsets they sell (generic nokia) 1st you have a tmobile nokia so youll have to wait for tmobile to do there bit which can take ages

or you can change your product code to a generic nokia code and update like that via nokia software updater

its very easy and loads of guides all over the net probs about 5 on this website alone 😊

at the top of this forum is all the product codes for the n95 just choose the one for your region change the code with nemisis service suite which is a free download then use nsu to update 😊

youll void your warranty so after update change your product code back to original mate just incase this wont guarantee you still have warranty as you will prob have firmware that wasnt released for your product code yet

anyways hope that helps

Thanks for that

Yes it is a Tmobile branded handset and i payed them to have it unlock

Think i may just wait and them to release an update as i used NSD yesterday and i now have lost all my contacts, text, bookmarks and settings not happy! 😡

jay you will allways loose your data on phone with a firmware upgrade

allways do a backup to memory card or pc of contacts etc 1st

thats the only way to avoid it

thanks

NEVER restore a backup after Firmware changes or upgrades!!!!!

You can safely use PC Suite Synchronise and Contenct Copier, but don't use the PC Suite Backup tool or the Memory Card Backup tool in the handset.

ddidds wrote:and why is that?

Because it restores not only your data, but also the menu structure and system data that worked on the old/branded Firmware but often conflicts on the new Firmware. Many N-Series owners have experienced problems adter restoring a backup from one FW version onto a handset with newer FW.
It's best to only use PC Suite Synchronise function to backup & restore for Contacts, Calendar, Bookmarks etc.

Hi

Is there a How to guide on change product code? Think i'll try that

Have just had a look for nemesis service suite on their site but can't find a like to download it

nice one.thx!

Actually you can restore contacts just FINE from the backup with different firmware / product serial codes.

Its the 'model specific settings' which you should under no circumstance restore.
