i read somewhere that u can use the n95 to play music via your car sterio. i was just wondering if any one knew anything about it. cheers
N95 using it with your car sterio
there are many ways. what kind of medium you after though ? Casette, wireless FM, bluetooth ... ??
the sterio is built in its a ford and its only a cd player so not sure how it would work.
Theres two ways.
1) Check if AUX in from back ... if yes, have permanent cable there.
2) Use wireless FM Transmitter, avaialble at pc world or ebay.
1 gives better sound but 2 is easier to do.
In my experience those FM transmitters tend to end up costing not too much less than a second hand radio with Aux-In, and the aux will definately give you the better quality, and in the end a better experience. I'd spend the extra myself.
I personally was lucky that my new car came with a radio with Aux-In, It's at the back of the radio which at first i thought was annoying because it required a small modification of the dash to route the cable though (Drills + your first ever properly NEW car = Terror!), but in the end it gave a great result because i just drilled a little hole at the back of the little CD tray under the stereo and routed a male 3.5 Jack -> 2xRCA cable though and bam, its done. Clean and effective, and works on anything pretty much.
fm transmiters are about 6 quid off ebay if you dont fancy taking a drill to you car dash board mate
sound quality wont be as good as the cable but it is alot of hassle to drill etc i find the transmitter quite good actually
nice1
drilling my dashboard sounds like a bad idea. think i will settle with the fm transmitter. cheers
You don't say what Ford you own but in my Mondeo I bought a small box to add an aux connection, and was easily able to route the cable between the centre console and the glove compartment hinge.
It does mean you have to shut the compartment door on the cable but unless you've got some monster thick cable that won't be a problem. A bonus is that you can eaily hide the cable in the glove compartment when not in use.
No drilling required. Took less 10 mins to fit including pulling the stereo out, fitting the aux box, and routing the cable. Definitely much better quality than a transmitter I was previously using and more consistent too - no problems with interference from random radio stations as you drive.
