N70 Debranding causes Screen Problem

Hi
I had my N70 debranded and firmware upgraded to 5.06 to ensure compatibility with TomTom. All was well for 1 year then the screen went weird by the lower 1/3 been displayed at the top. The ring tune went and colour display defaulted to 8 bit colour.

I sent the phone to Nokia who have refused to repair it and belived the software has been updated to beyond their authorised verision and may be what is causing the problem...even after a year. They said the Nokia software has time limits and hence the problem only occurs after a period of time has elapsed.

Can the phone be rebranded and software version lowered to correct this problem or get Nokia to repair ?

Any help appreciated

TomTom 5 & (now upgraded to 5.2) works perfectly with my N70 and the firmware version on that is 3.05.

When I was getting TomTom, I didnt see anything that said I would need firmware upgrades.

Can you not simply downgrade the firmware?
