I think it is not a lag in the camera app. it is the autofocus function that makes it takes longer to take pictures. it's normal that the autofocus to focus on the object taken before taking pictures. if u dont want the autofocus when taking pictures, just press the snap button firmly and the autofucus won't be activated.

Nope, its not the autofocus. What happens is when you push the button to take a pic, the flash goes off, the camera "sound" goes off, and you see a captured image...or so u think! The image you SEE as the captured image isn't the one you took, when the camera shows u the pic you actually got, its a pic of about 2-3 seconds AFTER the shot it showed you. I read about it on cnet as being a problem too. There's no way to fix it. It sucks.

u know what sux is that when u take a picture and then the camera restarts...like WTF? did u know I was scared to take my picture with Paris Hilton next to me because that might happen and end up asking her again to pose...and yeah I saw Paris Hilton in a bookstore...

mine has a delay about 1second of the focus and shutter sound.. quite annoying...
this happened after upgrading my firmware...
previous never happen...
so got me thinking, how the hell nokia did their job... fixing other bugs but making new bugs of a non-bug feature!
about paris hilton.. always bring your pocket digicam ..

have the same issue, until I figured out that the capture tone fires ~2-3 secs. prematurely, the flash actually lights about a second after the capture tone.

I would add that the shutter switch is very sensative. If you hold it down, it seems take the photo slower but if you just quickly press and release, the photo seems to be closer to what you may expect.
