Hey guys, bit of a newbie so you'll have to excuse my naivety. 😊
I've just been given a 7610 to tide me over until my contract is up for renewal and i'm having problems with what i think may be the speaker. When i play mp3's or ringtones its absolutely fine, clear as crystal; but when i make a phone call the volume of the other end is virtually non-existent, its as though the volume is turned way way down when its turned up fully. Yet, if i switch loudspeaker on, i can hear just fine. Does anyone think i need to have the speaker replaced or is there a setting somewhere i need to fiddle with??
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards - Luke
I used to use a 7610, and I don't recall ever experiencing a severe volume problem like you describe, when on a phone call.
That said, I can tell you that the 7610 is the quietest of the Nokias that I've used. But even so, I wouldn't say it was really problematic.
There aren't any settings to adjust the volume in the phone either. I apologize for pointing out the basics, but in case you aren't at all familiar with nokias (you did say newbie 😊), the d-pad adjusts the volume while you're on a call. Is it maxed out? FWIW, I almost always had that set at full volume.
Did you test with multiple people? I have one friend whose landline is so quiet I can barely hear him on it.
That's all I've got. If you've maxed the volume and tested with multiple callers and still hear almost nothing, then maybe there is something wrong with your speaker.
Good luck.
