N95 Problem:

Hi,

I've had an N95 since they were released in the UK on vodafone and have had no problems with it. However yesterday evening, I turned the handset off, then went to turn it back on. When I tried this, the handset vibrated as it normally does when you turn it on, then the keypad and other buttons all lit up, however the screen sort of turns on to a black colour, but it's apparant it's on. Just no other colour but black. But this is where it just does nothing. You can't turn the phone off without removing the battery, and connecting it too a computer it doesn't get detected, and when you put the charger in, just the same blank black screen. It's insured, so I could send it off to vodafone to be fixed. But does anyway have any knowledge of this happening and a solution? Or is my handset dead? Which is probably my fault for getting one on release day!

Thanks for any help that anyone has regarding this! 😊

Try a Hard Reset

1. Power off the phone or remove the battery.
2. After replacing the battery, but before powering on, hold 3 * and GREEN buttons
3. Power On (but keep holding those three buttons)
4. Wait 60 seconds (but keep holding those three buttons)

If this doesn't work 1st time, remove the battery and repeat the precess 2 or 3 times. If it still doesn't work after about 3 attempts, then your phone is dead and needs repaired by Nokia.

Hi

If you've tried the hard reset and still experience problems then your phone will need to be sent away for repair.

If the phone was supplied by Vodafone you can take it into any Vodafone store and they will then send it to our service centre for repair.

Kind regards
