I have installed this version of R66,it works perfectly...but I get the following annoying problem, each time I connect my N95 to my computer via USB in MASS STORAGE mode, and sometimes even in pc suite mode, the application disappears I can't see the icon anymore and so far the only way I managed to relaunch it was by uninstalling and reinstalling....can smone throw some light to my problem? Is there a solution?

having the same" problem, but dont see why it is a problem anyway?
am sure its happening for a reason

edit sry did read careful, have never been forced to reinstall route
strange..
the icon always come back after ½ sec when i disconnect cable

It happens to me everytime but only with that specific app and I get an error that says "could not complete installation" something like that, but there is no installation going on.I forgot to mention that I install it on the mem card otherwise the vocal instructions don't work,it's a known problem of R66

If you install software on memory card, everytime you connect your phone as storage mode, the icon will disappear from the phone menu....but when you disconnect the phone, the icon should be back again....

Route 66 should be installed to phone mem to avoid problems!
If you uninstall and reinstall to phone you will see what I mean and it works quicker!

This is not a bug.
As has been hinted, *any* application installed on the memory card will not be accessable by the phone while in mass storage mode. I even think the phone warns you when you put it into this mode about loss of normal access to the memory card. I had to make my contacts pref back to phone memory for this reason, as the phone won't let you put it into mass storage mode if your contacts are in the memory card (faiding memory actually, perhaps it did let you do it, but then if you got an sms or call during mass storage transfer, it doesn't show the details of the caller because they are on the card which is no longer accessable by the operating system in a normal way).
Regards

Ok maybe i didn't make myself clear, the icon DOES NOT come back after i disconnect the phone from mass storage mode, all the other apps on the mem card reappear, route66 will not.
I can't use Route66 on the phone mem cause of the voice commands bug,on the phone memory the voice commands don't work.

I've a LEGAL VERSION of R66, v7.3.545, and I don't have the above mentioned problems at all! (and everything installed on my Memory-Card!) 🙄

Maybe THAT's the difference !

There is a very simple solution for that, move the "speech" folder from the internal memory to the memory card (or take a backup of that folder from the memory card before installing to internal memory) and the job is done!

Haven't you installed it on your card already, it is System\Apps\Route66 and this is built on your card anyway (as this is where the maps have to go also).
