gmail java app - can't enter password

I'm trying to set up the gmail java app on my z8, but am stuck at entering the password - multitap doesn't seem to work so for example, trying to enter "b" by two taps causes me to enter two characters - presumably "aa". It isn't helped by the fact that the password doesn't appear on screen at all, just stars.

Any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with that app. But I've had a similar experience with another java app and got around it.

In the Username field, leave a space after your username that you've entered and then type out your password. You will of course be able to see it at this point. Then place the cursor in the middle of the password that you just typed, and hit:

Options>Editing>Cut word

The password has now gone from the username field.

Now go to the password field and go through:

Options>Editing>Paste

The password should now appear, though you won't be able to read it due to the stars. Now try logging in.

Good luck!

That's brilliant thanks - and it does work BUT the Z8 doesn't remember the password, so I'll stick to using the browser 😡
