One of my colleagues has just sent back a couple of phone of the Chinese version. Does anyone know if i can get these working in English either by option or firmware upgrade?

i believe it can be. no idea how though. a guy on the nokia3650.com forums got one off ebay but i imagine his was already converted.

The guy at this site, I believe his name is Adam, told me he can upgrade the firmware to the latest English language firmware.
Most if not all of the ones on ebay that say English language come with the firmware v 1.34.
He says he can upgrade it to firmware v 2.39

I got a Chinese v2.16 firmware, released on19/12/2002

Still buggy as some of help menu return error msg.

usually the first release sets are really buggy. that's why there's a modified saying as well that the early birds get wormed. 😃

So how do we get our phones flashed to the newer version?
Mine keeps crashing 😞

just got my english version update in hong kong for 3650 anyone know where to get the extra chinese font download?

1. From what I've seen the ONLY way to change between English and Chinese OPERATING SYSTEM (its not just a 'language pack'; its a completely different OS) is to 'reflash' your phone; and that is usually best left to Nokia.
2. I don't understand what PinUpBoys is trying to ask~ Do you want to still be able to view Chinese? I think it still can view it but you just cannot enter text in Chinese (ie. Stroke/PinYin is disabled)

I only know ONE person who bought the Chinese model and he's really really Honkie (as in he reads heaps of Chinese and stuff) but even he can't make out some of the stuff and it loses character when you don't understand some of it. Heh he needs my English manual so he can find out what half the phone is.
