Plays default ringtone ???

Hi All

I have noticed that my N80 occasionally plays the default Nokia Ringtone when it is set for something different.

It has never done this before and the only change I have made to the phone is to de-brand it and upgrade the firmware to the latest version. It didn't do this straight away after the de-brand and upgrade about 6 weeks ago, but has started doing it in the last 2 weeks or so. Not all calls play the default Nokia Ringtone and it doesn't happen every day, just every now and again.

Can anyone shed some light on this strange behaviour.

Many thanks.

Hi again.

I think I may have sussed this one for myself.

Having looked at the tone that I use, I have noticed that it is stored on the memory card. I have now moved it to the phone's memory to see if that makes a difference. It may be that if the phone can't pick up the tone stored on the memory card quick enough, it plays the default phone memory tone instead. Don't know why I didn't think of that before.

Will come back to you if it hasn't made a difference.

Many thanks.

Well, after trying it for a couple of weeks, it still occasionally plays the default Nokia ringtone, despite having my personal one saved to the phone's memory.

Anyone have any ideas on this wierd behaviour.

Many thanks.

Hi there

Try clearing your phone record logs - I have heard that when the log files get too full the phone defaults back to certain settings, including the ringtone.

Hope that helps!

this is normally related to the MMC but if youve moved it to the phone memory, Id delete that track and re-write it.. see if that helps. :icon14:

Yeah I'd say the same,re-copy the song to the phone's memory after clearing it and then make sure that you pick the ringtone from the phone memory!
