I've heard different pronunciations of "Nokia". Seems like most people "in the know" pronounce it as if it's spelled "Nakia". I don't know the speaker's name, but he's pronouncing it with a distinct "O" sound.

To me, the guy who Nokia has hired to talk about Nokia probably pronounces it correctly.

What's happening to the n82?
I deperately want this one. I have a e65 lent by a friend, but it is so close, but not yet what I want. Don't like sliders, want gps, anf flash camera.

It's pronounced with a short "o", as in the word "cough". The people "in the know" are the entire population of Finland, it's the name of a small Finnish town near Tampere. The company Nokia was founded there, but it moved to Helsinki many decades ago.

Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to say that Ovi is also pronounced with a short "o", as in "cough". It's also a Finnish word and means "door".

Heh, it seems that we have different pronunciations of "cough" 😊

"kawf" is how I say it, no "o" sound whatsoever.

God I feel like a nerd...
