Divx Player help for the N95

Hi can anybody tell me what is the best convertor out at the moment for converting your films/videos to play on the divx player on the n95? Also a simple convertor to use, also please tell me what you are using to convert to divx/avi etc, and what your settings are please for superb quality..

Hope to hear soon and bet there are lots of people out there with the same issues..

Thankyou

On my old N80 and N93 i used the DivX player and converted videos to get best results... but ive found on my N95, the built in realplayer is capable of playing videos just as good, if not better.

I now use Total Video Converter to convert files, using the preset H264/AVC Mpeg4 setting.

It converts very quickly (well... atleast on my Core2Duo E6600), and the videos play back fine in the gallery. A Tip to reduce converting time... plug N95 in to usb, set it to Data Transfer mode.. Now before converting.. set the output directory to 'Z:\videos\' - Z being the drive letter that the n95 shows up on your pc.

This makes it convert directly to your memory card, taking away the need to copy it across afterwards.

I currently have 4 full films on my phone, and still have 1gb free memory.

Ofcourse, if youre using the DivX player because you dont want your *videos* to show up in gallery, only under the divx player, then Total Video Converter will also convert to divx. But theres also many other decent divx convertors out there, just look!

hope that helps....

Hi , and just to say many thanks for that, and yes i would agree with you that the built in realplayer does play just as good, i found a programme called Media studio for nokia , and wow, wow what can i say, it converts the file you want to play automatically for the n95 and its all in full screen, no quality loss whatsoever, the files open up within realplayer and im well impressed, and yes c what you mean about hiding some of the files within divx player, but i can live without that now, the full version of media studio for nokia is 20pds but well worthit, i may also try the video convertor for nokia but i shouldnt have to now !!.

I was using Super@ video convertor for avi etc to play on the divx player but that was doing my head in, getting errors now ana again and took ages to convert.

Anyway thankyou for your help..and hope you enjoying the n95, i have now got a 4gb card and very pleased..

Regards from Brian

Just to say that using divX player on my N95 I have not yet found a video that hasnt had major lipsync issues.

Real player is the way forward unless coreplayer comes out some time soon

yade thats probably because your putting divx videos straight onto the phone before converting them down to the correct screen resolution first.... if you give it a 640x480 or higher video it will most likely stuggle...

convert it down to 320x240 and it will play fine

yeah i have that issue as well.. lip synching is really bad if i view videos on the divx player. thanks for the tip Gazp... i'll give that a go and see what happens 😊

hmmm, I will try that.

I use 640x480 for my MP4 videos played though realplayer and get perfect quality.
