Nokia maps 1.0 upgrade for N95 is out.
any feedback or some screenshots ?
just had a quick look, its seems alot more rounded now, it looks alot better than the previous version
Anybody know if you can install it ok over the top of the previous version on my N95 (v3.0 wk23 b01)?
I dont want to loose my landmarks etc.
What about the tracking that was missing in the past versions but available in the first (the one that came with N95 firmware)?
Here is what i did
I have downloaded nokia_maps_1_0_upgrade_ROM.sis from Nokia's page
If you go to smart2go web and choose to download smart2go for N95 there is another file to be downloaded NOKIA_Maps_1_0_S60_update.sis. They are different not only in the names. The one from nokia web is 3.01MB and the one from smart2go 2.65MB
So I have installed the one from Nokia site ... I have installed it on the phone memory. I was able to select memory card, but I think it is supposed to be run from the phone momery (no statement where to be installed)
About the questions u asked
1. Landmarks are not lost .. still there
2. No more tracking 😞
i recommend deleteing all previous maps using Map Loader and load them again .. Now with Map Loader 1.1 this procedure is very fast
well thats it
Does anyone knows ir this a simple update that can be done on a Mac or do I need to have Nokia Map Loader in order to download it?

Tracking from Nokia: select download! icon, n95 extras and you'll see sports tracker.
Unfortunately the '#' button stopped working correctly,
the zooming out doesn't want to stop, although I have released the button.
Please confirm if I'm right. :frown:
One more bug and all the previous ones still exists,
like e.g. the view still blinks when changing between 2D/3D.

I think you can only access zoom in and out through the menue .... bad 😞
Beta version better than official relesed one,
very interesting how Nokia tests their products.

What do you mean? It's a *.SIS file which you can download to any PC or MAC as long as you have internet access... 😊
Since I guess that there aint any PC Suite available for MAC you'll have to have a card reader to transfer the file to you micro-sd card. When there, simply start filebrowser on device, select the file and install (onto phone memory!!!).

Cannot confirm!!
Both '*' and '#' works fine on mine after upgrade.
I have installed the application once again on my phone,
and I observe the same problem.
I can't understand what's wrong.
I selected my phone memory as a destination
and overwrote my previous version 1.1.
Any suggestions?
Why oh why did I do an update just as I had the original version working (or at least limping usefully) complete rubbish.
Zoom only works intermittently.
can't plan a route at all.
Half the map of England has been lost.
Phone freezes requiring a restart.
Edit: NM, sorted it.
It looks like my '#' button changed its working. The pressing causes unpress and vice versa. So, when I release the button, it causes to start zooming until I press it again. Strange, because it works incorrectly only in this application.
Maybe someone clever could give me a hint to solve my problem?
Just installed the upgrade myself and it seems to be working. Zoom and routing is ok, but this has all been sat in the house without GPS lock. I'll try it tomorrow and see what happens then.
8Ball
Could anyone give me a hint?
I described above my problem with the "#" button used for zooming out.
It turned out that it works wrongly even after hard reset of my phone.
It means that the problem doesn't depend on the version of Nokia Maps.
On the other hand, it works correctly in other applications.
What can I do more to fix my problem? Please, give me some clues.
Hi,
I have solution,
just uninstall GARMIN XT application !!!!!!!!
Just intalled it on my N95 euro 1 with v12 and it crashes the phone. It stays on the globe openning screen even after it locks on the sattelites. if I try to go to a map page, the phone restarts itself.... How can I fix it or go back to the older version?
I think you have to delete and re-install your maps when it does this (with MapLoader)
That is what I was afraid. Still having the same problem. It starts the software, goes to the Globe screen, the satellite symbol turns green but nothing else happens. Then I try to force it to go to a map screen and when the globe screens fades out, the phone just reestarts... everytime....
Just upgraded from my Mac G5 to an Intel one but did not install Windows on it yet. Guess it is another visit to a friend's house again....
