Bug with e-mail on the E61?

3 replies · 2,122 views · Started 30 August 2007

Folks,

When I connect to my mailboxes with the E61, they update themselves *and* retrive e-mail, even when Iselected to just get the headers.

Does anyone have this problem as well or is it just me?

I wonder if Nokia will release a new firmware this year. Almost one full year havs passed since last upgrade, and some improvements are needed overall.

cheers,

Francis

Yeah, I saw some problems like this, although I don't remember exact details as I usually opt to download the entire messages.

I've grown to hate the E61 Mail Client; I would delete messages on my phone, and then on next collection it wouldn't delete them from the server (despite configuring for this). Then, sometime several connections later, while 'Downloading New Headers', it would finally opt to delete the emails. I finally switched back to my Windows Mobile 6 device; the built-in client has IMAP support that doesn't have a mind of it's own, and renders full HTML emails to boot!

I wonder if there's another e-mail client for the E61... I like it a lot, and, being a Mac user, I believe I shouldn't opt for Windows Mobile, as these Nokias do sync very well with the Mac.

Cheers,

Francis

Yep - there's at least a few good ones. Have a look on this website in /software/all/Email/

I once used Profilmail for the P910i... very capable, but quite memory intensive and a bit too graphical for my tastes. It may be better now.
