Got a quick question about network modes that are on the n73.
I'm on vodafone using a n73 thats opened to all networks, i dont use the 3G option nor do i want to.
On stand by below the reception bar my phone displays 3G.
Is there a way i can get rid of it? Under settings ive been on network mode and has the following options: dual mode, UMTS and GSM.
Should i change it to GSM, will i benefit?
Thanks in advance.

Changing to GSM only will have an impact on battery life - you'll get maybe half a day more out of the battery.
Until Orange offer a sensible data tariff (if ever?), my N73 is sticking on GSM. Once a decent data tariff is up, it'll go back to 3G and be used as a wireless modem for my Nokia 770 😎
Ah ok.
Will i still be able to use the phone to its fullest obviouslyy without the 3g calling option.
Thanks
You'll still be able to use voice, text, internet etc, however you'll the facility for things like mobile TV and video calling
And any data transfer will be (much) slower than on an 3G network.
