Is it possible to have my N95 paired to two devices at once ?
I want to use a bluetooth headset, when I'm on the bike, so I'm hoping I can use the N95 for calls and music and then another active pairing for the TomTom GPS too ( Nokia maps is utter garbage )
Don't really know about the "double active" (..apart from that it does work on my W950i..) but regarding N95 built-in GPS "garbage":
Have you upgraded your phone to firmware 12.x which has A-GPS support?
I own booth a TT Sirfstar II and a Sirfstar III GPS and I can honestly say that with A-GPS activated it's quite adequate to the TT Sirftstar III gps (..and I even get a quicker fix..).
Of course, when biking a BT GPS has on obvious advantage: it can more easily be strapped to the bike at a well positioned location.
I am running v12.0.0.13 version firmware, so I will have support for an external GPS. I will look at running TomTom 6 on the phone, with an external GPS antenna if needs be.
I'm assuming/hoping that if I can have a handsfree headset and external bluetooth GPS running at the same time, then I should be able to have the handsfree and the TomTom Rider unit running at the same time.
It'll arrive on Monday or Tuesday, so I'll soon find out 😉
Bluetooth in general supports communications with multiple devices, and I don't see why the N95 shouldn't be able to talk to two devices of different types at once. I don't have an external GPS, but it seems happy talking to a headset and a Pocket PC at once.
I use an external bluetooth gps unit and my bluetooth headset at the same time without any problems. 😊

YES you can use a BT Headset and an external BT GPS Receiver at the same time on all N-Series Nokia handsets.
Hey,
Yes you can have two connections at once as an external GPS receiver use's a serial bluetooth connection and a headset uses an audio bluetooth connection.
I constantly have my N95 connected to a Parrot BT car kit and an external GPS unit. The only gripe I have is sometimes the BT connection fails for a short time then re-connects to all, but that is a problem which has been around since the N73.
