The new version is not necessarily "better" .. sure it has a slightly larger screen at the cost of button size - they didn't improve the resolution.
The camera is no better - they should have added an optical zoom.
The battery is larger and therefore you trade weight for life. My current battery is fine.
I really think they missed with this "upgrade" model.:frown:
Well, if you never bought anything because there'll be a better thing out in the future, you can wait for ever.. all companies try to continually improve their products or people won't bother upgrading.
Don't forget that the 8GB version also trades microSD expansion for the built-in flash; you'll soon be able to put an 8GB microSDHC card in the original N95 and match its capacity, and then later beat it, while having the flexibility of taking the card out and using it in a reader for faster access. The main thing I'd like from the new model is the RAM, though I wouldn't argue with the battery - but I'm pleasantly surprised with the N95's so far though, following all the doom-mongering.

thank you, lovher..
but if you read Mithent's post more carefully you would realize that he is not saying you should wait longer
Ignore it, its only a troll.
But since its been out, many people have had a lot of use from their N95s, so they are not missing much.
Its probably not the fact that he has "waited" its more like he couldnt afford one in the first place otherwise he would have got one.
Or why dont you wait a bit longer till they are microchips implanted into our brains and we make calls with our eyelids ?

And we also thank whoever is responsible, that you didn't buy the N95 as you would have been a proverbial pain in the *ss with your questions like 'is there a 'Dukes of Hazard' theme for the N95 and the incesant moaning regarding the colour being .347 of a shade too light.
There is nothing wrong with the N95, it's a great phone but it will aways be superceded by something!
I no longer have the battery or the RAM issues so as a progressive communications device it's as good as it gets for the mo!
(BTW I have always wondered if the available OS RAM is allocated by the boot loader at startup? If it is then it should be possible to rewrite and allocate more. This would obviously have to be a firmware update but I wonder if it could be done?)
it is an ok phone not great
ie the 5mp is ok but not much better then a 3.2mp
battery is way 2 short for this type of device
loose slider is resulting in people having to take phone apart and use sticky tape to fix!! wtf!! why didnt nokia just make the slide better samsung have masterd the slide ok not 2 way slide but hey the n80 slide was bad as well and that was a single slide
gps reception seems poor in areas where my 30 pound ebay reciever has full reception
i can see light around the screen edge , bad design
if anything iam glad there revamping it for nokias sake it needs a re-design it seems very rushed and cheaply made or such an exspensive phone
allthough i do take my hat of to nokia for its features

I was saying that if you wait to buy things because there's likely to be an improved one later, you can wait forever, because there will always be an improved one coming. Nokia are surely already planning or working on a phone which will be better than the N95 8GB (these things take a while to go through development), because they want people to get a new Nokia phone as often as possible; it doesn't do them any good if you buy a phone and are then happy with it for three years.

No need for those sort of remarks!
Your initial post was slightly inflammatory!
Ignore him, anyone who says stuff about 'your mum' has a very young mental age and is just here to flame.

well that just shows how mature this person is, dont reply anymore as he/she/it obviously needs the attention.
