New N73 - shortcut query

Hi,

Just got my new N73 on Friday and i'm still unsure if i like it or not.

My previous upgrade was from a 6230 to a 6111 - which I hated so much I went back to the 6230 for 18 months. Now for my new upgrade I was debating whether or not to go for the N73 or the 6300, and chose the N73 cos I'd heard the 6300 had battery life probs. I hope I haven't made the same mistake again....

Now... I'm not sure if i like the Symbian software. I did the hack to upgrade to the N73ME (v 4.0727.2.2.1) , and think its a much simpler software set, and is much more intuitive. But, my gripes with the Symbian OS are as follow....

Slow operating system with delay on clicks

Lack of a a Goto menu

Small font in text messages

Having to use the C button as Delete in text message mode

Lack of inbox short cut

no auto key lock
I have fixed the last one with the download of the AutoKeyLock App. But I shouldn't have had to do this. Now, if I could get that Goto menu, or a shortcut to the inbox I'd be very happy. I've searched everywhere but cant find anything like what i need. can you guys help?

I'm almost at the point of sending the N73 back to Orange, and asking for a 6300. Please dont make me do it...?

Thanx

Flarkey

Please try this method, it might help you...

Go to settings, select Phone, select standby mode, set active standby to ON then press active standby apps at the bottom of your screen. Now you can change the shortcuts with your preference. You can also change the defaults on your left and right selection keys of your standby screen.

yeah, tried that, but there is no INBOX shortcut.

I'm starting to think the n73 is a pile of crap.... :frown:

The 6300 will be a pile of turd...

1: You will get slow operating system on the N73 compared to non smart phones, They are generally advanced phones with a lot of stuff built-in.

2:Menu's are under folders/sub folders.

3:Text is small, i think nothing can be done. (unless theres an app available).

4: 'C' is the cancel/delete button so theres nothing you can but get used to it.

5:If there's not an 'inbox' option in setting then its not available.

6:Auto lock app available .

You will heavily regret buying the 6300!!!

if you look more into the phone, u'll notice that N73 does not have 'stopwatch' or 'countdown timer' either😮

but still its a useful phone compared to the rest of the symbian series
