Samsung's SGH-i550 up close

Kudos to Unwired View for scoring a hands-on with the new S60-powered Samsung SGH-i550 at the IFA 2007 show. The i550 is on the tall side but quite thin and has top specs, including GPS and a 3 megapixel camera.

The trackball sounds interesting, and by that account it works well too. And it's nice to see Samsung still flying the Symbian flag...

Blackberry has had a trackball for a while so nothing new. Works quite well.

About about the software support- Do we assume the device runs S60v3 with FP1 ? So, do the softwares & games available for nokia phones run on samsung S60 ?
Also a little info on the performance og the gps module would be appreciated..😊

I haven't seen this in person. I imagine the trackball is the same as on the Blackberry Pearl.

I understand this phone will be on display at the Smartphone Show in October that's probably the first chance I will get to look at it.

It does run S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 and applications should have excellent compatibility.

I had the chance to tried the phone at the IFA. The Trackball works great, its similar to Blackberrys Pearl. Please Nokia,next time i would like to have it in the E90. Regards from Berlin
