Connect USB device to N70

Hi all,

Do you know if there is any USB device that could be connected to a N70 phone? For instance, a web-cam, an USB keyboard, etc. The data cable connects to a computer through an USB port so I suppose that the phone interface is able to connect to any USB device with the appropriate software in the N70, but I cannot find anything.

You cannot add any USB device to N70. You would need an USB host on it, which it is not present. And this without mentioning the drivers you would need for any new device connected, if that was possible.

There's no USB host support in Symbian yet (it might also require hardware support/electronics, I don't know; not an USB expert).

Symbian 9.3, I recall, adds USB OTG (On-The-Go) support, but that doesn't help with older phones (and no phones based on 9.3 or later have been announced).

Bad luck 😞
Do you know if there is any external camera (web-cam like) that could be connected to the phone? I've found one that uses bluetooth to communicate with the phone, but I prefer connect it directly to the phone.

no phone you will ever get will beat the phone because:

its a PDA
A smart phone
basically i freakin pocket size computer:tongue:

Even my poor E70 without touchscreen is better than your future Treo. Quote from Treo's specs:

Phone
- New! Slimmer form factor
- Large high-resolution color touchscreen
- Easily accessible ringer on/off switch
- Full QWERTY keyboard
- Advanced features—speaker phone, conference calling,
speed dial, call history, caller ID, touchscreen dial pad,
built-in organizer

Wow... You live in the US, right?
