OK im having problems with the given software,
when i try and erase the existing map data on the memory card, (obviously usiong the feature in the program), it says deleting....and stays there,
the program IS responding, and nothing locks up, but it was going for about 45 minutes, and did nothing, wtf?
i also cant find the data manually on the mem card.
can anyone help?
Just keep waiting. Depending on the countries maps you have loaded will depend on the time to delete. The maps are made up of tens of thousands of little files in almost as many directories. The flash FAT filesystem really isn't very efficient having a file at a time deleted (which is what I presume is happening here) and so does take quite a bit of time to delete this many files, esp using the phone USB rather than USB memory card reader (the phone is quite a bit slower even in mass storage mode than putting the microSD into a USB2 card reader).

Excellent - I've on a few occasions run out of space when taking video and had to delete some music - I wondered where the maps were stored as I'd have prefer to delete that. :icon14:

If you use the newer version of Nokia Maps and before the update you never open the program, the maps after the first use of it are stored in E:\cities\diskcache\
