Hi everyone,
This is my first post and I'd like to share to all about my new slide module that I just got from blueunplugged.com. First the reason why I had ordered the slide cause I tried to fix the slider using some of the tips on this forum by ever slightly bending the black track of the slide so there won't be any space between them. Well, I bent it too much to where it damage the other side of the slider and it scrape the silver coating from the part that contact the rail. :frown: I then read that I could buy the slider from blueunplugged.com so I did but they were out of stock for more than a month then finally, I got it from the mail and let me tell you, once it was installed it felt very solid and no play can be detected. I guess this could be newer parts from Nokia and they may have fix the slider problem with the newer built. Anyways just want to share since a lot of members are having the same issue with the slider. Those who are thingking of replacing their slider should, it feels so much better and you will definitely enjoy your phone a lot better.😊 Mind you it's a bit expensive since I'm in the US with shipping and all but to me it's worth it.
Slider from Blueunplugged.com feels very solid
howdie, my first post here...
been to blueunplugged those days as my n95 has a broken display. not broken as in broken, the lcd is fine, but it just blanks out most time, when it's working again the screen colors change with each keypress on the slide... the joystick buttons move the picture from left to right and such... weird. everything fine on tv out though.
and as this really nice guy who sold it on ebay does not hand out his bill or even a simple copy of it... well, i'm out of luck here.
so either my display or the slider part is defective. so i thought about getting those from blueplugged, and as you just got it... what does the slider consist of...? the lcd is missing, also the connector from the lcd to the print on the slider, right?
but the connector from the slider to the phone is included...?
'cause maybe that's broken... was on the beach 2 weeks ago and there are some small scratches on the connector in the slider - looks like some sand got into the pocket where i carried the phone. though it does not look like something's broken, but who knows...
also - if this fixes the loose/wobbly slider... that wouldn't be bad either...
thanks for the info!

Take the phone to local Nokia service center as they will check IMEI no. and repair under warranty as I once took second hand phone to them expecting to pay but when they checked IMEI they told me it was still under warranty.
worth a try at least
As fiddles said, take it to a Nokia service center if possible and check if they can still repair your phone. Since the damage on my slider was my fault, I had no choice but to fix it myself since I'm sure my warranty is already voided and the phone was bought in Asia so bringing it back there for repair is out of the question. As to your question, the slider is an assembly. The LCD connector is attach to the LCD unit and it does not come with the slider. The connector from the slider to the system board is the one included. The one I got took care of the wobble problem, no clicking when you press the corners when open or close. I'm sure you can get the slider somewhere else not just blueunplugged.com as long as its genuine and hopefully new.
Thanks for your replies!
i already went to 2 NSCs and phoned Nokia 2 times... result was basically - though they didn't say it - f**** o** and leave us alone, that's your problem.
NSCs said Nokia won't pay them for their work under warranty as long as there is no bill.
Nokia says that this is correct and that i need a bill. When objecting that the phone has not been on the market for such a long time that there can not be any garantie on it, they said that's also correct, but i would need a bill anyways as it could be a stolen phone (or one that dropped of a lorry...).
so i said that they could verify this on their own as they can use the imei to find this out... and that's where they stopped over and talked about the bill again... bam.
anyways, i might just retry it... today i'm giving the provider of the seller a 2nd call, they had already closed yesterday, maybe they are to kind to look up the customer based on name, adress and imei - and send me a copy of the bill...
at least i know that the slider at blueunplugged is an option.... and i guess i will buy there as they have some other stuff like cristal-case as well... better to pay only once for shipping...
Thanks!
