N95 Autofocus Problem - Crazy but Efective Solution

2 replies · 3,463 views · Started 07 September 2007

As I posted earlier, I was having great problems getting my N95 to autofocus on anything more than a couple of feet away.

I was going to take it back to a NSC for repair, but really can't do without a 'phone at all, and was reticent to because of "just" the camera, even though this was one of the upgrades I was most looking forward to from the N80.

I have been trawling google religiously, and yesterday found this simple and very effective solution:

As you half press the shutter button for autofocus, "rock" the camera gently from side to side whilst keeping your object in the focus brackets. You will now get the green sign and then hold steady and take your picture.

It really works, and seeing as though I'm not a serious photographer and only want the phone for the odd holiday snap etc., will do for me.

"Introducing the N95: It Shakes!".
