HELP HELP HELP!!!!! 9210i infrared syncronization with winXP

I can't be the only person in the world with this problem!!! I have no problems with the connectivity between the 9210i and the pc using a cable, but via infrared... what a nightmare!!!

Even if I manage to get Windows XP to recognise the phone, the moment I try and syncronise, the infrared loses connection.

I am running software v 05.34 on the phone, and have downloaded the latest pc suite software from the nokia site.

To top it off, the new system I have bought does not have a serial connection, so I am now out of options.... it's infrared or the highway!!

HELP!!!!!

I've the same problem here, you cannot connect ur 9210(i) using IrDA on Windows XP, it only works using cable :cry:

ok... so I can't use infrared, and my notebook doesn't have a serial port..... what are my options?? :-?

I guess no option...Can't you add a serial port on your pc...you would have to change main board...change operating system...

It's a toshiba notebook.... adding ports may prove difficult. How about these USB to serial converters?? would they work? anyone tried them?
