Symbian has broken the news of the official release of a 'North American optimized' version of the Nokia N95. It has the USA 3G frequencies, four times the free RAM and a higher capacity battery, compared to the current imported N95. Price will be $700 SIM-free. The full press release follows.

Presumably this is exactly the same device as the N95 8GB which is listed on the official European Nokia site as "coming soon"?

This is not the 8GB version. It has a memory card instead of the built in 8GB storage space, but a lot the rest of the specs seem to be the same. Good to see it is shipping soon. Could mean the 8GB will follow closely.

I wonder if us early USA adopters can do anything to trade up?

Aha... so there are now three N95s out there:

-N95 (original European version)

-N95 8GB (for Europe and America)

-N95 (new American version)

This is going to get confusing. Why didn't they call the US version the N95i or something like that?

Its the original version but with the bigger battery and more RAM.

Technically the US version will be the N95-2 (or similar).

Anyone heard anything about the screen of the N95NA? The 8gb version is apparently brighter and crisper, I wonder if the NA version will be better as well...

The US N95 will have the exact same screen as the current N95.

Sadly, I think we will have to wait until the end of the month to get the phone. Nokia will be hosting a party in LA on the 27th...

what about the N95 8G? is it supporting ultra HSDPA? as i know only E90 supports ultra HSDPA.
by the way, what is the price of N95 8G sim free phone?

I am planning to buy Nokia N95 8G. I need some user experiences.

Thanks..
