Lost all my data!

Hi All,

I just downloaded the latest pc suite, used content copier to backup everything.

Then I updated to the v12 firmware, which went ok

However when i use pc suite to restore my data, although it appears to work ok, (the log says success etc), the phone restarts and no data is updated. My phonebook is empty, messages are empty etc.

The only thing i'm really bothered about is my phonebook. Any idea how i can restore this?

I downloaded nokisms and that allowed me to get vcf files for all my contacts out of the nbu files, but how can i reload them in bulk?

any help appreciated

Thanks

How many times does this crop up?
Don't use backup/restore or content copier across a debrand/update.
Just do a PC suite sync, update and then reinstall your apps only to the phone mem.
If you did a sync before then resync back.
If not???????????????

It can read backup files on your computer, extract the contacts and transfer them to your phone.

Thanks superswede, that worked perfectly!

Nice to have a constructive answer on these forums for a change.

And how many times do I have to keep replying to your posts and say that PC Suite Backup (Content Copier) isn't a problem across debrand/update; and that not everyone has a PIM they can use the sync with? 😛

You should copy all the contacts on the memory card. Both PC Suite and the built in backup application are useless in S60 v3.

You can do it as many times as you like!
Your 'post' was aimed at me my post was aimed at the subject in general.
Stay objective not personal!
BTW, I just checked your posts and can't find any time that you have said 'And how many times do I have to keep replying to your posts and say that PC Suite Backup (Content Copier) isn't a problem across debrand/update; and that not everyone has a PIM they can use the sync with?'

Hi everybody , it looks like I am not alone....really didn't know that I should use PC sync instead of backup..anyway....already did it.I solved with the contacts problem thanks to program hint above but I still have one big unsolved , the recovery of my SMS and Calendar notes....I really have a lot of important things in this god damn nbu file......
Any ideeas how to recover them in bulk ?
Many thanks in advance fellows ,

.vcf (vCard) files can be copied bulkly to the phone via pc suite's contacts manager.

...or you can copy all *.vcf to you memory card (under root\Contacts\) and then from within Adress/contacts book on N95 select 'Option'\'Copy'\From memory...
