I've recently installed Orb on the PC at home and have activated Wake-on-LAN to access my content. Only problem so far is that I am limited to starting the PC using another PC, whether it be remote or on the LAN.
I am looking to use the N95 to do this using mobile internet access, only problem is that I can only find J2ME apps that start the PC from the LAN and don't let me specify the remote IP of the router. e.g. the Wake on LAN midlet from: http://www.jibble.org/midlets/
Does anyone have any ideas or know of Symbian apps that would allow this to work?
TIA! 😊
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the J2me midlets for allowing remote boot. Although, I do have to ask: is leaving your home computer turned on not an option for you?
Can't you specify the router's IP and port (xx.xx.xx.xx:yyy) in the jibble midlet, then have your router forward the port to your PC?
Or did you already say this couldn't be done? Forgive me if so.

You're right! I was hoping to get back here before anyone replied and delete the thread if possible lol!
I was being a spanner and didn't think of trying my WAN IP! Doh!
Mystery solved! Thanks for the replies anyway!
