Different Active Standby Screen?

Hi Guys, Newbie to the forum here, been browsing some of the topics here and thought i should sign up and take part a bit :icon14: 😉

Well, i bought a new N95 on Orange contract at the end of august.....the standby screen itself had icons down the left hand side of the screen, and when i hovered over each one it gave me options for each which was brilliant.

Then my phone got stolen the following week (agggh!)

So, my insurance company sent me another N95 (once again on Orange) but this time, my standby screen had icons in small at the top and something about calendar entries and WLAN underneath which im not too keen on to be honest.

Whats the reasoning for this can anyone help because i would love to take it back to the way it was

Thanks in advance for all your help 😉

Sounds like the classic Orange specialized menu. Thats the reaons I left Orange and joined Vodafone, as at the time there was no way to switch off the orange menu. Apparently at a later date they added an option to switch it off.

Im guessing this time they shipped you a standard N95 or there is an option somewhere to switch the Orange menu back on.

That's strange. I have an N95 on Orange contract too, and it came with the horizontal active standby icons... Had mine at the beginning of April.

Personally I prefer the horizontal ones myself too - didn't really like the vertical ones on my old Orange N70.

Yeah it did seem a bit weird but i think when you say it might have been prioprietory from Orange it seems like the most likely scenario.

Both the phones i had were branded to Orange, and both had the Orange logo on the back by the battery, but it just seemed like the first was the only one i had with this menu type.

I've checked all through the options to see if i can change it but to no avail 😞
