After leaving my spare N95 battery in the washing machine i thought it was screwed, but I just tested it and not only does it still work, its showing as fully charged.

Is it safe to use?

If we don't hear from you within next six months, we'll presume not!😉

If the seals round the case all appears intact, then maybe it will be OK.
However, I suspect the battery probably die in the next 6 months.

If it was a cheap eBay compatible battery I personally would replace it.

If it was a Genuine Nokia battery then I might risk using it as long as there's obvious indication it's been through a wash cycle - e.g. Writing worn off., because Nokia should repair your N95 free under warranty if their own batteries leak etc.

I have used a phone which has been fully submerged in water in the past. battery everything, the screen was dead at first and alot of condensation on the screen, but after fully drying out, it works.

i dropped my n80 in the floodwater a while back (live in Gloucester, south west eng), found it, took it apart as much as i could, put it on a plate surrounded in salt, and put it in the oven at about 40degC, it dried up real quick. then left it on window sill, and eventually it started working fully afgain bit by bit. its still fully working now, so about 2 months later its ok 😊

I dont think its worth risking tbh, chuck it and geturself another battery rather than running the risk of causing damage to your phone :P

I normally leave my spare battery on a shelf, does storing it in the washing machine make it last longer?!?! LOL!

How did it taste?

Expect it not to last longer than a few months. The water will have began corroding the circuitry on the circuit boards inside and regardless of whether you have dried it, you can't stop that!
