Nokia Beta Labs has released a new version of the PC-Suite for Nseries devices.
Nokia Nseries PC Suite is a collection of Nokia Nseries and third-party PC applications that seamlessly tie together your Nokia Nseries multimedia device and your PC.
Use the applications to transfer photos or videos from your device to your PC, to copy your favorite music from your PC to your device or to synchronize your calendar and contact information. And much more.
Because of the surprising and extremly huge size of the software package (325MB) high speed broadband connection is required.
Supported models: all Nokia Nseries devices. Works but not tested on other Nokia S60 devices.
Windows XP 32 & 64 bit (Professional or Home Edition, SP II) or Windows Vista™ Home Basic / Home Premium / Ultimate / Business including 64-bit editions
At least 500MB of free disk space
Minimum display resolution of 1024 x 768

This better have an office suite built in! 😊
Thanks Henk .. Heavy download probably worth it.
is it any better than the regular pc suite?
I have installed it yesterday, and when I boot my system I get the very informative message:
An error occured
I didn't discover a real improvement, though there are many changes.
Its big because for non obvious reasons they include the .net3 install.

so far seems worth the download 😊
What are the differences then? It doesn't seem very upfront about why I'd want to install it..
It doesn't seem to like Vista or a least my version of it. If I exit PC Suite and then try and open it I get the following message:
"NNPCSUI has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Anyone else got this problem and better still a solution.

thanks i'll give it a try 😊
I must say the interface in this is super sexy, its just a shame they didnt include a text message browser/sender like the old one. I'll stick with the standard pc suite for now
Pretty buggy at my end at the moment, overall not impressed.
First off (and minor I know) the windows aren't sized very well. For example in the settings window when you've configured your outlook setting etc because the options move downwards to make more space the Log options are pushed below the bounds of the dialog box so you can't use them. The window doesn't get bigger to fit them in.
It can never connect to the Nokia Update Server whenever I try which is nice.
Selecting "Explore your Nokia device" opens My Documents.
Oh, and it crashes quite a lot.
These are my findings during the last 5 minutes I've had it installed, probably more to follow.
Stop the press!!! Credit where credit's due, just discovered the area at the bottom of the app where you can drag any content to have it converted and put on your phone. I just dragged an .avi file of a Lost episode and there it is nicely converted and sitting in my gallery. Nice work with this feature Nokia! Now just sort the rest out.
Its running very slowly on my Vista 64bit.
I have a Q6600 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM and a Raid 0 config. Abit annoyed.
Although a Bluetooth connection was shown as available it wouldn't connect to my phone and kept showing the connected device as 'Nokia N95' rather than my phone's Bluetooth name.
I got the same problem as above with it not connecting to the update server.
I use the desktop text messaging application quite a lot so this was the deal breaker for me so I uninstalled the suite. Unfortunately, this dragged a bit of PC Suite 6.84 out with it so I needed to reinstall.
Obviously there were going to be problems as this is an early beta, I look forward to giving a later version another try.
Its been taken off the beta labs' site.....
The page has a message...
We have removed Nokia Nseries PC Suite 2.0 from Nokia Beta Labs, as the software proved to be not mature enough for public beta testing. We are grateful for everybody who sent us feedback, and deeply sorry for inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Nokia Beta Labs team.
