Looking for IMAP bandwidth usage figures on E61

I've setup a free IMAP account with Fastmail.fm which supports IMAP idle so that I can get something very similar (or close enough for me) to push email on my Nokia E61. This all works great while I'm at home and connected via Wifi, emails coming in pretty much immediately, but I'm interested in using this setup on the road too (via GPRS/3G).

Can anyone give me an idea of how much bandwidth this is likely to use? I know this will depend on the number of emails recieved and the amount of time I'm connected, but any real life usage figures would be a great start in getting an idea of what I can expect to use.

I read somewhere if I had a linux based router I could use that to monitor bandwidth usage whilst connected via wifi to get some kind of indication, but unfortunately I can't do that with my router.

I forgot to mention, I currently have it setup to just fetch the headers in order to minimise traffic. I would then just pull down the entire email message selectively if it needed attention whilst I was on the road, otheriwse leave it until I'm back in front of the PC.
