Hidden Wlan

When i am in work and scan for wifi networks i get "hidden wlan" what does this mean,and can i connect to it?

Only if you know its SSID (name), have an allowed MAC address, and know the appropriate passkeys, etc. Even then, I couldn't get my N95 to work at home with a hidden WLAN.
