Try this: start some programs, press and hold menu button and remember
the last application in the list (excluding Telephone). Start
FileExplorer and press and hold menu button again. Do you remember the
last application? On our device it's not there. Now remember last
application in the task list again, exit FE and start it again. Take a
look to the task list.
It seems that FE kills that last app,excluding Telephone.
Can anyone confirm or deny this.

Start some app,minGPS as an example,then without closing minGPS start FileExplorer,then without closing FileExplorer,look at the task list,minGPS is not there any more.
It happens here every time,FileExplorer kills the last app.

I have tried it on v 3.16 and v 4.39 and it happens.
Also,they have tried it at SymbianWare,because at first i thought it was Stacker fault.
It happens on their devices too.

It can also act as a task killer. 😃

I tried miniGPS,palette extender and Stacker and it happens with all of them.
it even also kills the Keylock program.....I share the problem as well with 4.39
could it be a firmware version? :-? do you have this before ghostdog when you were still running 3.16? :-?

Yes,i discovered the bug when i was using v 3.16.
I'm sure that Domi is on it right now and will provide a fix very soon.

And if I use Handy Day it does not happen at all.

Are you sure this is a bug in the program?
It's not the first time that my phone automatically shuts down the last opened backgroundrunning programs in order to make some memory free.
Some programs do need more memory to run then ther installed size.
Its's possible that some big programs take about 500kb when running. Best example is webviewer as it also takes much space for saving al web pictures when running. I only say this because I know that my phone (FW 3.16) closes backgroundrunnning applications in order to free memory when needed. That's why some people have the "bug" and others don't I guess.
But of course it can be a bug too but I tought it was normal as other big programs do the same when the phone runs out of memory...
Oh and btw Domi: the dutch translation will be in your mail at least saturday. It might be sooner if I find some time left to correct my mistakes 😊 Sorry man but I got exams this and next week. Thats why it takes so long at the moment. I don't have much time left right now but i promise you'll get them all by saturday.

This was really a bug !! - but for me, it's a bug in the OS (operating system) itself :evil: !!!!! - it's a bug when freeing some memory ! but normally when freeing memory in an apllication MUST NOT access the memory used by another applet !!.
By the way, this bug was only sumitted in this forum (started by GhostDog) and only some users have find it ! I proposed than everybody who is in trouble with this bug send me an email ([email protected]) to received the corrected version (if I received to much e-mails, I could post a new version on the official site) this bug is not 'really' a 'blocking bug' for releasing a new version just for this :-? ....

im sure it didn't disturb a lot of people. you and your apps have been helping a lot of poeple instead! cheers to that! 😃 and now, come to think of it, this 'bug' never really bothered me so i might not need a fixed version. i'll just wait for the next release. 8)
