My Nokia N80 is suddenly experiencing a problem of auto restart. When I switch on my phone, the lock code screen appears and after I enter the lock code, even my main screen appears but within 15 seconds the screen goes blank, switches off and autmatically restarts again. Once again, the lock code screen appears and the whole process goes on endlessly. Basically I cannot use the phone as a result because it is switched on only for 15 seconds.
I don't know what maybe the problem with the phone, but before anything else, my primary concern is saving and retrieving the data stored in my phone memory. By no means can I afford to lose 2 most important things - My Messages and Contacts. I cannot understand how I should go about it, whether I can use PC Suite, Memory card backup or any other method in the current situation when my phone is automatically going off and on, but I am willing to do anything it takes to have my data retrieved.
It is of utmost importance to me to have my entire message content (Inbox, Folders) as well as my Contacts retrieved or saved safely on my phone. There has to be some way to retrieve the data before havng to reformat the phone, whether it is by saving onto my memory card, or computer via PC suite or otherwise or any other medium by using the phone memory chip. Please advise me on this at your earliest because it is very urgent for me to do the needful.
As I said before, I am willing to do anything it takes to retrieve my data (Messages and Contacts) even if the problem with the phone is not repaired first. My concern is not the fault with the phone right now, but to save my phone data from any loss.
It'll be great if anyone here can help me with a good solution at the earliest.
Hi,
Could you please confirm following things.
1) If you had already had done any backup of your mobile earlier?
2) Have you have your contact details on your SIM Card?
3) What was sudden cause for your mobile getting restarted every 15 sec?
4) If your mobile is stable, it is always advicable to have a backup using existing PC Suite and make sure that your data are back-uped.
5) Check if your mobile is detected for some reasons, if you are connecting with PC? (Hope it won't bcoz you said it is getting switched off within 15 sec)
6) If you have already done any back-uped the data available in memory card, same can be restored now.
The very problem and crisis for data retrieval is only because, unfortunately, I have NO backup of my phone memory or contacts and neither do I have my contacts on my SIM card.
I had made several attempts to back up my phone data on my memory card while my phone was working fine, but for some reason, I always received an error msg and I could not get a backup.
I had sync my phone with PC suite almost 10-12 months ago so tht back up is not really helpful... and right now, I cant figure out how to use PC suite since my phone switches on only for 15 seconds.... what to do???
This is why I am really concerned... Please suggest if there is any way whatsoever.. any alternative... any solution by which i can retrieve the data before havng to reformat the phone, whether it is by saving onto my memory card, or computer via PC suite or otherwise or any other medium by using the phone memory chip.
I really really really need my entire message content (Inbox, Folders) as well as my Contacts retrieved or saved safely on my phone.
yeah, you must be pretty desperate to post the same thing in the forum 3 times! 😮
If your phone is only staying on for 15 seconds Id say your pretty much stuck. You wont have any time to transfer or backup anything... so your either stuck losing it all or you get the phone into NSC and see if they can help backing up somehow? Good luck with it tho.
