Map application (with GPS support)?

Are there any map/navigation applications available for P800 or are there any news of porting one form other devices?

Good examples are TomTom Route and GPSPilot for Palm.

I'm building a navigation system for my car and I need a display unit connected to my GPS-receiver. It would be easy to buy a Palm since it has plenty of programs available, but if there's a good program existing (or coming) to P800 I could go that way. P800 would be a perfect all-in-one device (without GPS of course).

Many have tried (and gave up) to use a PPC for GPS incar navigation even 320x240 is too small to look at while driving.
Try to cut a piece of an old paper map the size of the P800 screen and put it in the dashboard in the same place where you imagine yourself installing the P800 then drive around and try to read anithing in that small piece of map...
Do report back if you try this D

P.S. Don't tell your insurance company that you are attempting this wink

Afonzo,

I totally disagree :agrue: with you about the size of the screen with a GPS. I am happily using a GPS with a PPC Phone Edition, and it is awesome. You have to remember that in addition to the actual map, you get text and voice prompted driving directions that are very easy to see and hear in the car. I don't see any reason why such a program couldn't be done for the P800. For my money, the most probably candidate to do such a thing is Mapopolis. They have an awesome product and support Palm and Pocket PC. My guess is that they would be the most supportive of looking at Symbian on the P800. There are some solutions for the 9210 that might be candidates as well.

Send your requests to Mapopolis and hey... you never know! 😃 😃
