I have nokia n95. I have started using my Orange pay as you go on it only because I learnt that orange GPRS was cheapest around. Supposedly 1 for unlimited usage.
However its more of a rip off. Its only unlimited use if you stay and surf from within "Orange world" and if you went directly to an external site it would cost you an arm and a leg.
Is there a way to bypass orange world and use / access external sites without getting ripped off.
Please, share.
Yes, use T-Mobile, much better for data.
Can't be more expensive than Virgin, £5 per MB!
T-Mobile Web N Walk
Sign up for a sim only contract. 7.50 per month for 50 minutes. It's a rolling 1 month contract so no lock in period. Add another 7.50 per month for Web N Walk and you get up to 1GB per month for a total cost of 15 which works out at approx 50p per day.
You can go directly to whatever web site you like.
The only limitations are no IM, no downloading huge media files (although I do sometimes and I've never been billed for it), and no media streaming (again, I do sometimes). Basically it seems that as long as you don't take the piss they let you do what you want, for the moment at least.
I'm on T-Mobile PAYG - it's pay for what you use up to a max of a quid a day.
They were going to change this to a flat 1 fee but they've done a U turn on this decision which is great because 1 to use A-GPS would have been a rip off!
I am on an Orange contract and pay 4 for unlimited off peak access which suits me because I have WIFI access during weekdays....bargain
