Overview

Conversation is a messaging application that allows you to follow your conversations, organized by individual contacts. In addition, the application provides an easy way for replying to messages, and to continue the conversations.

After installation, the application will appear in your device as an application shortcut, and as a new tab in your Contacts application.
Installation instructions

You have to install two separate files in the order specified below. Also, we recommend that you use the latest software available for your device.

A nice way to tidy up my inbox, although it isn't actually in my inbox, if you see what I mean. At least now I can see message details with ease.

agreed, much nicer way to interact with your sms inbox.

I especially like the ability to delete all msgs from certain contacts with ease...

ut.

I have installed this application but have no shortcut to it or no extra tab in my contacts. Can anyone help??

I installed it to the phones memory!

Did you install both files and not just the application? You need to also install Nokia Contacts Services Support Package first and then the app.

VERY nice app.. Only problem is I my contacts menu is a bit congested as I already have the Windows Live tab

Yeah, nice app. Thanks!

at L11: What's that Windows Live Tab you mentioned? Where can I download it?

the windows live tab appears when you install Live messenger on the phone. The tab displays your messenger contacts.

a nice solution however it would be nice to set Conversation to invoke when getting a new text instead of opening the normal messaging app, as if you select a message anyway it goes through to messaging, hopefully this will be added to the final release!

Only problem I've found is sending a message from the tab seems to lose the contact information when you go back in to Messaging and go to your Outbox. My messages come up with +447....... instead of the contact's name.

On e65, all works ok eccept when try to open a message from within the app, it then shuts. Otherwise its ok

brilliant app nice to see something really handy should be standard on new phones i think, only things are that it should be intergrated into messaging menu too and an option to say automatically start when you recieve a message from a person that you have previously recieved a message from.otherwise very refreshing😊

I echo all you comments. It's a great application for messaging, but:-

1. My Contacts tab is a bit overcrowded now with Contacts, Gizmo, Conversation, Windows Live and Groups.

2. It needs to be opened directly from receiving a message. Might be an idea to have an option to turn it on or off in this situation as in some instances I like the "traditional" Messaging menu. Maybe make Messaging tabbed with Conversationas the first/second page with the ability to select from Message Settings whether to go to Inbox or Conversation.

3. It seems to take a while each time to re-populate the application with messages. About 10-14 sec's.

4. If you reply from Conversation the message is then shown in Messaging as the phone number and not the name.

5. It does seem to be thirsty on RAM, something the N95 needs like a hole in the head. At start-up I have 18.6M free, after going in to Conversation I have 14M. If I use Handy Task to close Contacts I then have to wait the next time while Conversation re-populates. I do wish that Nokis would reconfigure their OS to be less RAM thirsty. I believe this is the case with the N76.

6. Since installing it "seems" to take longer to open Contacts.

7. When I go into Conversation and Open a message, select Options then Reply, Text message I'm then presented with a screen asking which of the Contacts numbers I wish to use even though I've set up Defaults for that contact in Contacts. I know I could use the little screen at the bottom but I prefer the traditional input.

I realise that this application is Beta and am very impressed with it so far. It just has to be integrated into the N95 correctly, not using the Contacts tab but placed in Messaging where it logically belongs.

I also keep getting a message popping up saying, "Application closed. User 11 kernel" Don't know what that's about.
