The UK communications regulator Ofcom has opened a consultation on (amongst other things) easing restrictions on the 900mhz mobile phone frequency in Britain. The most significant effect of this would be to allow 3G on this frequency, at the moment it's only used for 2G. The reforms could also help increase signal coverage.
