I want to upgrade my phone's firmware to the latest, so I called my NSC and they told me they finally have 4.39 (yay!!!). However, when I asked about the cost of the upgrade they told me it was $25, but if the phone was broken, they would do it for free..
So my question is (being a tight-ass) how do I corrupt/break the phone so they will give me the firmware upgrade for free? Any files I can delete or anything? I can quite easily back everything up and reinstall after the upgrade, so that's not a problem 😊
YOu could try to delete the Mail folder 😃
Only thing is that you might loose the phone for a long time.
Because they might send the phone to nokia for examination. 😃
If your current firmware is 3.12 you could try filling the memory as much as you can untill it crashes, and hopefully (in this case) it wont turn back on.
Are you a club nokia member? If you are,firmware upgrade is free of charge.
There is allways the "throw againts the wall" solution. 😃
:-? whats with club nokia ? as long as your phone is under warranty firmware upgrades are free. Just go to the NSC and tell them your phone keeps freezing and it's getting very annoying. Sound serious. They probably won't ask to see a demonstration of the phone freezing and they'll do it.
