hi

guys i have very simple question.

how can i use N95 flash light as a torch, i mean i want this flash light to be on untill i want but i have tried many option and it just blink the moment i press the snap button and thats it. like in 3300 i think, you would have the choice to turn on the flash light but in N95 i cant find any option like this.

any thoughts?

thanks

There's a Python program around which supposedly has the option, but it only flashes every few seconds. I'm tending to believe that the N95's flash is powered by a capacitor which only lets it work for short periods at a time, to be honest - it may never be possible.

the flash is probably charged using a 'supercapacitor', allowing the ultra bright flash, but this takes 2 seconds to charge.. hense the delay between taking photos...

but, if you cover the camera lens with your finger and half press the shutter button to focus, the light does come on and stay on until it has focused.. im guessing its just powered normally at low voltage during this period... but its definatly still bright enough to use as a torch... unfortuanatly the time out for focusing is only a few seconds...

if this is the case, then there probably is a way that you could program it to stay on constantly... just need someone to develop an app!
