max size memory card for n95?

6GB at the moment. I have 4GB working on my 6110, which also says 2GB only.

I have seen people on this forum say they have 6GB, which was released not long ago.

8GB is rumoured to be coming out soon.

I find it all amazing tbh, that size on something the size of your thumbnail.

Course, there is a 64GB usb stick out, but that costs over £1000 I think.

Ah, found it: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/04/07/kanguru_pricey_64gb_flash_disk/

Note that was on the 7th April last year. So I dont know if they have developed any better since then.

Yup indeedy - i was wondering the same question a week or two ago but i found this site

http://www.nextdaymemory.com/mobile_phone_memory/nokia_n95-279.html

Mint site - i read through what they said (which clearly states at the top of the site that the cards are compatable with n95) and double checked about the "2gb limit" on N95

Apparently, nokia said the limit of 2gb because at the time of print it was the highest capacity you could fit on one of those sticks.

But rest assured, i bought one and it works perfectly in my phone and for only £28 for a 4gb stick, delivered the next day i cant argue in the slightest 😃

DVD's on the way to work for me? I THINK SO! 😃

I got 6gig card in mine, works fine, cant even see a difference in speed apparently they be bringin out a 16 gig card in a year or so dont know how true that is.

They defo will - it'll just keep doubling every year 😊

You can wait for ever for a higher capacity card to come out becuase there will always be a bigger one just around the corner - But I've decided I'll wait for the 8gb and that's it. :icon14:

Latest Nokia phones (N81,N95) will be able to handle up to 32Gb micro SDHC cards. Sandisk are releasing their 8GB card in late November, after that its another wait for the 16GB.
I guess i will have the 32GB micro SDHC card running in my N95 in about 1,5 years😊

I cant help but think we will have moved to a new memory card type by the time a 32GB comes out, thats what seems to happen (think compact flash, SD, RS SD, MMC, micro SD, etc etc).

Still, if we get to that sort of amount that would be very cool. I would be able to have all of the UK in 1:25 for my viewranger maps 😉

I'd say that, mass-market, things have really just gone CF -> SD; other formats like MMC, xD and Memory Stick have either not had widespread support, or didn't last long. miniSD and microSD are just the same SD cards progressively miniaturised, and it's not practical to make them much smaller than microSD, for handling purposes.

Well thats what Im hoping. SD does seem to be the most widespread format, considering you also generally get SD adaptors with most things - I did with my 4GB micro card.

Long live microSD I say. Course, I'll probably have a different phone by the time 32GB comes out, but at the very least it will still have inbuilt GPS and a camera.

Hopefully looking nicer will be one difference! (The 6110 isnt bad, but its no show stopper).
