never used to get that above it was either G for GPRS coverage or 3G for 3G.
What does "E" mean?

Im on O2 UK contract.

Liam

The E means you are connected to an EDGE network a high speed data network that is slower than 3G , some times called 2.5 or 2.75 G, download speed can be around 25 KB/sec max

It means you were using a network that supports EDGE technology (enhanced GPRS - not quite 3G speeds but "2.75G"😉

Funnily enough, I was seeing that for the first time a lot in Germany this last week - never seen it in the UK before but this was on o2-de.

But I also seemed to be getting an unusual indicator underneath - two lines with a spike on them top and bottom - almost the same as the "connection on hold" but the slash didn't go all the way through. I presume it was "on hold" but it wasn't displayed fully. Odd.

I reckon that one means it's an EDGE network, but roaming means it probly ain't gonna work....
Or not :con?
