N93-3 - Will it work 100% i the UK?

Hi all, just a quick one.

I'm looking at getting an N95-3. Mainly because it has all the advantages of an N95 8GB, but without the limitation of no removable storage.

After reading a few posts here it looks like the 3G frequencies over there are very different from UK

I use 3G here a lot, so...

It wont work here, on 3G, will it?

Thanks all in advance

Andy

My hunch is no - the N95-1 doesn't work on the US 3G networks, so the N95-3 is likely not to work on UK 3G networks. However, there is a possibility I'm wrong..

The N95-1 uses European 3G frequencies which are completely different from the US 3G frequencies that the new N95-3 was built for.
The phone itself can be used across pretty much all the different GSM networks around the planet and can use 2.5G tech like EDGE anywhere but the US-specific N95 can only use 3G on AT&T's networks in the United States.
I myself have an N95-1 and have used it in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
3G on my phone only works in Europe and the Middle East, NOT in the United States.
It's pretty frickin' sad that I can stand in the middle of the Kuwaiti desert looking at a camel and have full-on 3G on my phone but in the United States 3G coverage overall is spotty at best, even in the "major" cities like NYC, LA, and San Fran.

Hey iBall,

Thats pretty much what I had guessed. What a shame... So I doubt they'll bring out an 'N95-4' for European users (ie: more RAM but still hot swappable memory)

Looks like I'll have to settle for an 8GB then

Thanks for the reply mate
