3650 faster than 7650

Is there any chance that the 7650 might go at par with 3650? I've tried the 3650 and its faster than 7650. I just want my 7650 to be a lot faster. Damn the memory.

I think they both (3650 and 7650) use the same processor (104mhz ARM)I upgraded to v 4.39 from v 3.16 and i can really tell that my 7650 works faster now, maybe its a firmware issue.

Does upgrading the firmware mean losing all applications, contact, MMS settig etc..

If so will I be able to do a 'restore' from Nokia Suite and get everything back?

I'm a little worried as recently my phone was playing up so I backed it all up on nokia suite - got my phone replaced, but when I tried to restore my backup on nokia suite it would not let me as it saw the phone as a 'new' phone and would not let me restore my 'old' phone data to this 'new' phone!

a quick answer to some questions:

a. YES, upgrading to v04.xx will significantly "speed up" your phone. They probably optimized a lot... now log, messages and access to menu is really quicker 😉

b. YES the upgrade process will erase everything but:

b.1. you can backup with pcsuite before taking it to che CNSP and then restore, no problems at all

b.2. you can tell the guys at the Nokia service point to make a backup and then to restore all for you

if you can backup with pcsuite, my suggestion is to do so, and take the phone "formatted" to the service point, this way they won't make any "mess" like they did to my phone 😮

That's strange... I updated from v3.12 to 4.39 and said to the clerk that there is absolutely no need to backup my phone, and yet all the data that I had is still intact.

I assumed the "backup your data" to be a precaution just in case something goes wrong during the process.

** Magic **

Service points have the *OPTION* to backup all your data, but you can't be sure they will do that... so either you do it for yourself or you ask him to do so (but just to be safer I'd do both 😉 )

There is no need to back up before upgrade, the procces does not touch the users data.

Are you sure? Maybe people have said otherwise.

When mine was upgraded from v3.12 to v3.16 all the data was erased...

Wrong.

back up is for extra safety. if the service center messed up, at least you still have all your data intact! 😊
