Hello all,
I have searched for a thread covering this topic but couldn't find anything so here goes!!
I am looking for a bit of software that I can download for my n95 that is similar to netstumbler or ministumbler. Basically I would like it to be able to display information about different access points in more detail than the n95 currently does. I am looking for information such as SSID (if broadcast), channel, signal strength etc. At the moment all the n95 does is list the SSID and how many APs it can detect.
Hi
AFAIK, there's nothing like this for Symbian devices. The nearest you'll get on a Nokia device is kismet on the N800.
R
is what you're after .. I don't think its free .. It works ok ..
Hotspot finder is not as good as the built in wireless detector, at least the built in wireless finder tells you if the hotspot is open or not.
An excellent hotspot finder application would.
* Beep when an open hotspot is detected.
* Autoconnect to open hotspots
* show you the security status all found hotspots to be known.
* always connect, to the best signal source (even if connected to one already)
* run in the background with minimal resources.
I am not advocating a hacking device that allows people to abuse other people's wirless networkd because they are too stupid to set up WEP/WPA. I'm talking about an app that can connect to the many open network hotspots that airports, cafe's expose to the public.
