A couple of links of interest looking ahead to the future. Adobe has finished Flash Lite 3, including support for Flash video (e.g. on YouTube), although it's not at all clear yet when this will be made available for existing S60 devices. And Nokia has bought out Navteq, presumably hoping to integrate a lot of Navteq's data and expertise into the upcoming Ovi services/platform.

Flash Lite worths shite if it doesn't run as browser plugin.
"Flash Lite worths shite if it doesn't run as browser plugin."
The flash content of websites do actually run within the browser on the latest version of S60, it's no different from viewing flash content on a PC browser.
However you have to switch flash content on from the browser settings menu. It's switched off by default, presumably to save data costs.
Zomg awesome! flv support finally!
Finally! I can stop holding my breath... that was a l-o-n-g wait. Man, they said they were gonna release this a lot sooner, but then came Microsoft with their new creative platform, with superior video playback, and Adobe had to answer, so resources went directly into that, and Adobe had to up the ante with making the new flash lite 3 handle more content that developers would be putting out, which meant even MORE retooling by the creative giant. Well, I think it's been worth it. I'm happy to know that we're getting a good product that will give us all much more beautiful web experiences!
One last word

Now... that just makes my heart warm.

So will I ever be able to watch YouTube on my E90 you think?
You should be able to, but currently the "interim build of Adobe® Flash® Lite™ 3 Developer Edition" is available for download if you request it. Then you can try it out on whatever device you own (aka: e90).
All requests for the interim Developer Edition must be submitted by noon Eastern time on Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Late submissions will not be processed. Your build will be made available by the end of the day Friday, October 19. It will be delivered as a SIS file and can be implemented and installed like any other application on Symbian S60.
request: interim build of Adobe® Flash® Lite™ 3 Developer Edition
To request it send an e-mail to "] with the subject line of "Request for FL3 Developer Edition." You will need to include the IMEI number of your device in the e-mail. The IMEI number can be obtained by entering *#06# on your device.

Can anyone point me at a website on which I can view Flash content on the N95 browser? I have yet to find one that displays either in the viewer or on the page.
can this be installed on any smartphones(old/current/new), or will it only be pre-installed to upcoming phones?
BACKROUND
I sent a request email to get the interim build of Adobe Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition program.
This "interim Developer Edition build" was for individuals who were interested in testing Flash Lite 3 on their device BEFORE the availability of the Developer Edition in November.
On my email request, I made sure I provided the required information that Adobe requested within the text of the email. I also submitted it prior to the due date of 10/16/2007.
Adobe had stated, "Your build will be made available by the end of the day Friday, October 19, 2007. It will be delivered as a SIS file and can be implemented and installed like any other application on Symbian S60."
As of Monday morning 10/22/2007, I myself haven't heard back from Adobe on this "interim build". This made me wonder if any other Nokia FL 3 "interim build" applicants had heard anything on their SIS file yet.
QUESTIONS:
(1) Are there any FL3 applicants out their that have received their "interim build", FL 3 SIS file yet?
(2) If no, does anyone know when we might hear something on this?
(3) Any other information that could be provided would be great too.
Thanks again for any information and help on this.
I registered for the "interim Developer Edition build", and got email this morning with a link to download it. The message did say, "We apologize for the delay in the release of FL3 developer edition and we hope you enjoy testing Flash Lite 3. "
downloaded it
installed it
tried to stream from youtube
"Hello, you either have Javascript turned off (no) or and old version of Adobe's flash player (er wtf?)
f**k it 😞
this is as good as useless, there's no browser integration 😞
