Blackberry on an E65 (on 3) - anyone done it ?

I am on 3 in the UK, my firm uses blackberrys, but if I am honest I just want to use my E65 instead ... installed the software, followed the steps - but it doesn't seem to connect .

I know NOTHING about blackberry so I could be missing something truly fundamental ...

As far as I am aware, you need to have the right kind of account with your network provider. Eg. If you company uses blackberrys, they are probably from Vodafone etc. Have you got a Vodafone or similar sim card with blackberry enabled? Are your company Blackberrys with 3?

Following on from that, if you do, have you tried to do the same setup using a colleagues sim card you know to work with blackberrys?

damn, I didn't want to be one of those people with a blackberry, mobile phone, ipod and everything else they get out of their laptop bag on the train .... I want convergance!

Cheers for the reply, I have a feeling your probably right - but I would hate to call Three as I don't think that they will have any idea!!! And despite them not having a clue I will be on the phone for ours!

Your first call should be to your IT/communications department. They'll know more about it all and will be able to direct you appropriately. They might just say sod off, but it will hopefully take much less time for them to tell you that than calling Three would... 😉

Blackberries are identified by a number that they call a PIN. Your E65 w/ Blackberry Connect will have a different PIN than your real BB. Whatever BB service you are using needs to be configured with your new PIN.

On T-mobile in the US, I was able to simply log into my Blackberry Internet E-mail Set-up on T-mobile's web site and change my device PIN and then everything worked fine.

You most likely need to do something similar.
