Hi to all,
I would really like to buy one of these phones, sim-free but no one in the Uk has any stock or has the slightest idea when they will be. Looking at the usual internet outlets all I see are expected delivery dates, being put back every day I look. Does anyone have any idea when this phone will be available again?
What really suprises me in this forum is the lack of chatter about the unavailability of the E90 - either everyone is just resigned to waiting or no one is waiting for this phone.
To me it just appears that at AAS there is no problem and its business as usual.
Anyone care to comment on when we may see this 'wonder-phone' you can only talk about, but not buy.
Regards,
Ian.
I was going to post the same thing: it's maddening! Also trying to get my hands on one, but through Voda (although if I find one sooner I'll cancel the order) and they have no clue and Nokia are 100% schtum:
- I emailed to ask them when they were going to ship, only to be told that 'there are no generic problems': sign of a guilty conscience?
- I called them, got put on hold for their technical department and then promptly got cut off after 15m of waiting.
There are quite a few on eBay, but I want a brand new one. 😎
Nokia decided to halt production on the E90 temporairly as a fault was discovered with it. I think its been menitoned afew times on the forum.
Production has now resumed, but it will take a while for supplies to return to normal.

Lol, so rather than constructive forum talk, you'd rather everyone moaned like you?!
I manage to pick one up on the first day from a nokia shop. I only got there at 11am so was surprised no one else went in to get one before me... this nokia store is about 200sqft tops lol.
tbh, the case does creak on mine, but you can live with it... i can see why people would be annoyed with it, but after the dissapointment of the 9500, its a small bug bear :P

This is interesting - anyone know what the fault was? I have a creaking side panel on mine but other than that it seems pretty stable/solid.
Hi all,
Although i had a E90 as it come from the UAE it had no warranty anywhere except in the UAE which i found unacceptable on such an expensive device so sold it even though all the feet where even and it was perfectly stable the only problem it did suffer from was the mysterious grease marks from the keyboard on the screen.
Earlier this week i received a call from 02 as i am on their waiting list and was told they are expecting them in shortly i had woken up and in seriously drugged state due to pain so sorry can't remember the date it was either the 10th or the 18th but i would imagine this will mean everyone should start receiving stock around the same time.
As for the unavailability of the E90 whilst i can appreciate it is annoying not being able to get the device you want when you want it. At least IMO Nokia did the right thing and stopped shipping them until what errors there where are corrected, i would much rather have a company do that to me their customer. Than what SE did with UIQ3 which was just to keep on selling them and take months on end to fix the Firmware when it was very obvious from day one they knew of the problems. They still have the honor of the funniest and most stupid message ever put on a device by any manfactuer IMO
" Your device has restarted to improve performance"

Upgrades from the 8th, new(bies) customers from the 10th on 02. Or should that be O2?
Voda still schtum! Maybe Nokia are feeling more pally with O/02 because of the iPhone?
MobileFun reports stock in 22nd October (everyday I look the date gets pushed back) and now Expansys are saying late November!!! Nokia... what is going on?
Yes I may sound like someone moaning, but I really want to get this phone. In fact I bought the last one in stock at Play.com mid September only for the postal service to lose it!
I would love to join in with 'constructive discussions' on this forum, but I can't until Nokia pull their fingers out and start delivering this phone (how can these faults take so long to fix?)
Anyway, rant over, i'll now go away so us not to upset the 'E90 haves' with my gripes.
Regards,
Ian.
Yes I agree why is taking so Long
& for no other phone Just This one 😞
Cant wait any longer keep telling myself get another But when i compare it to E90 NOTHING beats the Nokia 😊
Please give some Info when can we get it in USA ?
Just heard from Skodafone that they're getting a batch in tomorrow (12/10/07) and another early next week, and look to have the majority of orders fulfilled by Thursday.
Just if anyone is still impatient. :tongue:

You can get one on eBay - I saw someone selling US guaranteed E90 there, but as I understand it has all the problems, as ever before:trytofly:
When I bought mine in Miami about 5 weeks ago the dealer told me he had no intentions to import more because his cost rised a lot and the end price would make it hard to sell.
Any how I called USA Nokia customer support about a question regarding the phone set up and the representative couldn't believe I had one in my hands.
He told me that Nokia will release a E90 version around december which will work with the US UMTS band. As you are aware the one sold now works only in WCDMA 2100 band for the Europe market, so it doesn't make any sense to purchase this phone if it will be only used in the united states, and unable to access the high speed networks like the one provided by Cingular for example.

I've just had a call from Clove.co.uk saying they have E90's in stock and i'm getting one tomorrow!!😊 I've had a preorder with them since early September.
Let's hope all the known faults have been fixed. (Ordered a sim-free version)
Will post to the forum once I get it.

Ian.

Too good to be true about US 3G E90 - I will believe it when I see it:frown:

Lucky man! Still waiting on Skodafone: apparently they didn't get their delivery today, but are expecting it early next week... Le sigh!
if ((nokiae90.existInShop == TRUE) && (day == tomorrow)) {
nokiae90.bought = true;
skodafone.currentOrder = cancelled;
System.out.println("w00t!!"😉;
}
else {
nokiae90.bought() = false;
System.out.println("oh"😉;

Just thought I should mention , I bought an E90 from o2's online shop , which arrived yesterday (Friday 12th)
(I am not going to use it on o2 , I am putting my T-mobile sim in it - It came unlocked and I flashed it with UK Mocca as soon as I got it )
What I found strange was the pricing though
From what I have seen (going from memory) Expansys want 659 for an E90
Nokia want 649 , Clove want 616 - I have seen prices as low as 569 - but TBH I do not know if these are reputable sites or not , plus add to that they do not have any in stock anyway !
So lets look at my deal with o2
89 for the Phone , Then 40 per month on a 12 month Contract
89 + 480 (12x40) = 569
So 569 for an unlocked , generic (post flash 😉 ) E90 - Payable on "interest free" monthly instalments of 40pm is pretty damn good IMO
(thats without even considering the 600 xnet mins and 1000 sms's PM included in the contract )
I am quite pleased with this deal
Hey guys,
I just purchased an e90 yesterday (12/10/2007) n im frm Brunei. Our local dealer received the shipment on d same day i bought it. Apparently its a new batch frm nokia but im nt sure if the bugs or faults frm d previous batch was sorted out. If anybody has questions on its difference juz let me know wat i can help (i.e. difference with old batches n so on..)
Cheers..
Matt - I've also been looking at the o2 offers. I cant see it for 89 on the 40pm contract, are you sure its not 45pm? In which case it would be 629 in total.
I've done a few calculations (maybe I need a spreadsheet, but I'm not that bothered!) and they all come to about 650 for the phone and tariff over the duration of the contract, whether 12 or 18 months, with slight differences which are probably the wholesale cost of texts/minutes.
My contract renewal isnt due for another 4 months, so hopefully this natural restraint will force me to wait until its cheaper. I'd go for another network, like 3 or T-mobile (with their free/cheap mobile internet), but since all of my friends are on o2, it would cost more to keep in touch.
Gah! Why must they make it so difficult!

You're right ! I have just looked at their site , and is indeed on the online 45 tariff for that price
Funny because I have definately got it on online 40 (12 mth ) for 89 ! - they must have realised their mistake and changed it
I actually had some trouble TBH , I had been keeping an eye on o2's site , after hearing rumours that they would restock e90's on the 8th or the 10th - so when I woke up on the 10th , I checked , and there they were - there was no photo on the site - so I guessed they had only just put them up there , I placed my order there and then ,as I was expecting the stock to go quick - and specified next day 10am delivery
Come 9.30 am the on thursday - I received an a4 envelope with a sim and welcome pack in - I angrily telephoned o2 - who seemed very vague , and promised to get back to me , They phoned back to tell me they had despatched the e90 and I had signed for it at 9.30 !! - which worried me as I had indeed signed for a package at 9.30 - but it certainly wasn't an e90 !!
It got very tense for a few minutes , and it looked like I was going to be out of pocket ! - Worried that some DHL driver had got a free e90 at my expense , I asked them for the IMEI of the device , so I could report it stolen and get it barred - it was at this point that they admitted there WAS no IMEI because they had allocated no handset to my order !! - from this point on it was all straightforward and I got the handset on Friday (thanks to a helpful guy called Ross )
Sorry for the long story .... but in light of the price change , I am wondering whether they tried to mess up my order on purpose - so I would cancel ?
Apologies for the inaccurate pricing info then 😊
Just got my "in stock" notice from Nokia (bit late now ! ) 🙄
In the US Nokia E90 is available through Flagship stores for $1200 and some very limited quantities on eBay. The general availability is delayed until middle of November:frown:
There seems to be stock here (at the time of writing).

Mobile planet (expansys USA) has 147 in stock right now. They had over 250 this morning when they got them in.

Looks like the hype for E90 in US is over - the dealers got plenty of stock - the prices will go down fast😉 I will give it a week or two...😃
Seems to have disappeared from the 02 site again. 😮
Out of stock?
Went to Voda in Gloucester on Tuesday, and got told "we're not going to have it, too many dalays", so I went over to O2, and asked if they had one in stock - wife now angry, came home an hour late, but with a new E90!!!!
I've been after one since March, but it has been worth the wait! And yes, as mentioned, the O2 ones are unlocked.
Worth trying your O2 shop, looks like they got 1 or 2 each, and no-one believes it.
Happy bunny now ~ Angus
I have heard through sources that E90i is being released anytime soon now!
I have had three swaps of my E90 here in India and all the three had the same problem of IN CALL HISSING NOISE during the call!
Finally I had to lodge a strong complaint and threatened severe action against NOKIA for selling defective phones and thecase has been now refered to the president of Nokia india and their service partner in India.
They have asked me to either take a replacement in form or other model or wait for the solution till next week. I tried asking them about E90i as a replacement but they were non comittal on it.
But through my contacts in retail I have learnt Nokia is releasing E90i as whatever they proclaimed the problems could not be solved or else I would not have been handed over brand new sets with same problem!!
Could someone else with better contacts elsewhere verify this buzz??
The E90 I received from mobileplanet on Thursday has the defective earpeace (hissing and click/pop noises when changing volume during cellular call. Does not happen when doing VoIP calls.).
I have another one on the way from Amazon which I hope wont have the defect.
The model I have from mobile planet is:
V 07.24.0.3
12-06-2007
RA-6
Nokia E90 01
Production Code: 0533332
If there is any confirmation on the rumor of an E90i I will send both back.
