For years, regardless of residence, I've had issues with wireless access points. My most recent AP, a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54, worked fine with my laptops and E61 but required a reboot every 10-14 days to keep working. Nice.
Last night I bought a D-Link DIR-655. It's working great with everything but my E61. Here's what I found:
Running in "Mixed N+G" mode causes the SSID to appear and disappear on the phone every few seconds. The E61 won't connect to it. It won't even obtain an IP address from the DHCP server. The D-Link doesn't see it at all.
Running in "G-only" mode seems to fix things. The E61 can successfully connect as needed.
Otherwise I'm running in WPA/WPA2 security mode and TKIP only. Also set to channel 2 - no auto changing.
Has anyone had a similar experience and know how to fix it? I mean, running an 802.11n access point in G-only mode is pointless.
